These drawings are a selection from sketchbooks I draw all the time, for pleasure, to observe, and to start any work I do.
The first few are spatial studies, and following this are observational drawings from life, often made on trips away. I have included drawings of famous buildings and artworks I admire, as the best way to see these works is to draw them
This is a drawing of the plan of Villa Maria, designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto and built 1939
The following three drawings are of Villa Savoye designed by Le Corbusier and built in 1931
These figurative sketchbook drawings were made on holidays and include quick family memories as well as studies of great artworks by old masters that I have been lucky enough to see in person
